General
The DPA 4099V clip mic is ideal for live amplification of string instruments such as violin, viola, mandolin or banjo. It's part of DPA's d:vote instrument microphone series and is capable of reproducing a natural, pure sound, regardless of the instrument it's amplifying. The special mounting kit is designed to fit the violin and other instruments that have a body that's about the same size, like the viola, banjo, and mandolin. Attaching and removing the 4099V is simply a matter of clamping or unclamping it, and once it's removed, not a trace of this mic is left behind.
Neutral Sound
Because the 4099V is capable of reproducing such a natural sound, EQ is not even necessary. Find your ideal tonal character by adjusting the position of the microphone, which can be done extremely smoothly by using the included gooseneck. Another added bonus is the DAD4099-BC MicroDot XLR adapter so you can connect the mic directly to the mixing console. This adapter also provides low-cut to prevent unwanted low frequencies from becoming audible. Last but not least, the 4099V has a super-cardioid pickup pattern, which effectively prevents any ambient noise or other instruments from being captured.
