Los focos de seguimiento son lámparas que se utilizan en un musical, obra de teatro o concierto, para iluminar y seguir algún objeto o persona. Se dirigen manualmente, para darle un uso con la máxima precisión. Son luces muy potentes que utilizan normalmente lámparas de descarga de alta presión. El tamaño del haz de luz se mide en grados. Además los focos de seguimiento llevan una lente incorporada para ajustar el haz de luz de la manera más nítida y a veces también están provistos de un sistema para cambiar el color de la luz. Esto se consigue a través de filtros de colores.
