General
The 896 MKIII has eight channels with 24-bit, 192 kHz analogue recording and playback capabilities combined with sixteen optical, digital input and output channels, stereo AES/EBU, S/PDIF and separate analogue main outputs. The 896 MKIII is built as an indispensable tool for any hybrid studio and live-sound technicians, whether they use a computer or not. As an interface or stand-alone mixer, this incredibly broad device has 28 separate inputs and 32 separate outputs, XLR main outputs and two headphones ports on the front panel.
Applications
Connect your studio gear; microphones; guitars; synths; keyboards; drum machines and even effects processors and get a live-source-signal transfer with no latency via the built-in, professional-grade CueMix FX digital mixer. Recordings made using any of the mic/guitar inputs are guarded by overload protection with a headroom of 12 dB over 0, so the input signal is never in danger of overdrive. Once the recording session is over, the 896 MKIII is simply disconnected from your laptop and taken on the road for use as a stand-alone mixer, since every channel and on-board effect can be toggled and tweaked via the front-mounted LCD display.
