Charvel's Desolation guitars are characterised by their distinctive looks, comfortable playability and deliciously tough sound. The Desolation series expands the already elaborate range of Charvel guitars. One of the more beautiful and popular models of this series is the Charvel DS-2 ST (Transparent Red) that is notable for its transparent red lacquer, underneath which lies an attractive Flame Maple veneer.

DS-2 ST Transparent Red: upgrades and sound

To make the DS-2 ST electric guitar even more interesting, it has been the subject of several upgrades. For instance, its body and neck feature new bindings, its hardware now has a satin-gloss chrome finish and its fretboard now brandishes stylish Keystone position markers. One thing that didn't change is the elegant LP-style body shape, characterised by its manageable size. The body is made of mahogany and as such assures you of a full tone with plenty of clarity. Two active Charvel humbucker pickups take full responsibility for sending this guitar's powerful, neat sound to your amplifier.

Fit for metal

Its active pickups make that the DS-2 is excellently suited for metal. The 3-position pickup switch and the volume and tone controls allow you to draw a whole spectrum of tones from this guitar. What's more, the DS-2's playing comfort is fully tuned to fast-playing metal guitarists. Thanks to its comfortably shaped heel, the cutaway and the compound-radius fretboard, you can reach even the highest frets with ease. As this guitar is equipped with large jumbo frets, making bends is easy.
