Squier present their Contemporary Active J Bass for bassists who love the timeless feel of a Jazz Bass with a modern touch but prefer to stay on the affordable side of things. The smooth-shaped ash body and C-profile maple neck feel trusty while, for a faster bass lines and riffs, the fretboard has a flatter 12-inch radius and narrow tall frets. A satin-gloss finish makes sure that you can keep gliding smoothly along the neck in all possible situations, but it's not just the playing comfort that's taken care of in this friendly-priced Jazz Bass HH.
The Contemporary Active Jazz Bass HH: Just as Contemporary in Looks and Sound
Even when it comes to looks, Fender's daughter company have given this electric J-style bass a clear, contemporary character; the matt body finish, matching headstock and black chrome-plated hardware serve as excellent examples. When amplified, it's equally evident that this Squier Jazz Bass belongs in the here and now. Two ceramic humbuckers send a brutal and punchy foundation sound to an active 9V preamp and the resulting, consistent bass sound can be adjusted to taste via a set of tone controls, including blend, bass and treble pots.

Ik heb ook een Fender Dimension bass dus Fender/Squier spreekt me toch het meest aan.
In feite is dit een actieve Jazzbass. De afwerking is zeker voor deze prijs buitengewoon goed.
Met de toonregeling van deze bas kan ik wel overweg wat erg prettig is.
Het enige minpunt is voor mij het gewicht. De bas is vrij zwaar, zeker als je het vergelijkt met de normale Fender bassen. Maar goed als je dat geen punt vindt heb je voor het geld een zeer goed klinkende, mooi uitziende basgitaar die ook heerlijk speelt. Alle klankkleuren zitten er op. Ik heb er alleen even Elixer snaren opgezet en de bas laten afstellen en intoneren in de Bax winkel in Rotterdam. Dat is kosteloos als je het product bij Bax hebt gekocht. Sowieso is de man die het afstel werk doet daar een professional die elke bas naar de wens van de klant weet aan te passen!
