The new Pro Tools line-up doesn't just include new names like Artist (for budding musicians) and Studio (for big-time musicians), but shifted function and feature sets. For starters, the Studio version now comes with features that were previously reserved for the Ultimate edition. That being said, the Avid Pro Tools Ultimate edition is the definitive flagship of the refreshed DAW-fleet and comes expanded with features such as support for HDX and HD Native and a whopping 2,048 audio tracks. While clearly overkill for regular musicians, this many tracks will definitely come in handy in the world of film, where foley and and dialogue usually demand a large share of the tracks.
