El sintetizador Roland JU-06A Boutique es la continuación del increíblemente popular JU-06. Se trata más o menos de la misma máquina pero con los mismos colores vintage que los Juno 6 y 60.
Als 70-plusser heb ik in de voorbije decennia al wat instrumenten verzameld. Zo nu en dan geraak ik getriggerd om toch nog een synth aan mijn collectie toe te voegen. Mijn interesse gaat vaak uit naar vintage klanken en dan kwam JU-06A al een tijdje door mijn hoofd spoken. Ik had echter al een Deepmind 12, die is gebaseerd op een Juno en kan natuurlijk ook wel die klanken genereren. Waarom dan toch nog een JU-06A er bij halen?
Wel om de heldere layout die meehelpt om zeer snel leuke resultaten te bekomen. No-nonsence, rechttoe-rechtaan editing zonder jezelf in talloze menus en submenus te moeten verliezen. Heerlijk is dat en aan verademing. Dat hij slechts 4 stemmig is heeft me nog niet gestoord omdat ik meestal klanken van verschillende synthesizers layer.
De simpele layout van deze JU-06A heeft me meegeholpen om mijn andere synths beter te begrijpen en gebruiken.
Kortom... ik ben er heel blij mee !

A fantastic little powerhouse of a synth. I missed out on the D50 remake, so this is the next step up. Don't let the small faders put you off, as the last one you touched is transfered to the 4 big pallete faders. Sounds just like a JD800 but smaller, excellent 4 layer pad machine with some sounds you will recognise from the 90s, that lead guitar sound is woah! D50 esque samples on board create that breathy bell type character if you want it. Programming is relatively easy I found using the led nemeric screen easy, as the abbreviated functions are written in a thoughtful way so as to understand them quickly. Also responds to aftertouch which opens up another side to designing sounds. Love it! Bax music delivered as promised, no hassles, kept me informed on delivery and updated accordingly. Only quibble was the JD08 box was just floating around in another box, no packing between them, this split the corner of the outer packing. Some bubble wrap would avoid this, luckily no damage to the goods inside.

Hoewel de schuiven op de Roland JP-08 absoluut kort zijn, is het goed mogelijk om heel precieze waarden te selecteren. Het goed leesbare beeldscherm met drie cijfers en de links boven geplaatste langere schuiven (= Palette) helpen daarbij. Er is duidelijk goed nagedacht over de bediening. Een part selecteren is eenvoudig (Note + Tone A / Note + Tone B). De basisfuncties, zoals het opslaan of selecteren van een patch of sequence zijn eenvoudig. Meer complexe functies vragen soms wat meer van je inbeeldingsvermogen. Maar wie zoekt, zal op internet ook editors vinden voor deze synthesizer. Ik vind de klank gevarieerd en warm. En het is leuk om zelf eigen geluiden te ontwerpen.

Bien pratique ce câble midi avec fiche rotative notamment pour un gain de place sur pedalboard. Le câble midi fait parfaitement son boulot, j'en ai déjà plusieurs et ils semblent tenir dans le temps. Donc à mon avis un très bon rapport qualité/prix.

I purchased the JD-08 synthesizer and I am positive about its sonic capabilities. It is however a quite complex synth with many layers running in parallel so can be a bit of getting used to dealing with the layers at the same time. Also, It is definitely a very digital synth, but no shade, that can be cool also and is well worth the money. The range of sounds and effects that can be achieved with this synth is impressive. The effects are so so but do the trick. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a high-quality digital synth at an affordable price.

IMHO a very good sounding unit with a decent range of analog synth sounds for the price - which is what sold it to me.
Connectivity for sounds in/out is by stereo miniature jacks so may need to use adapters depending on your needs.
I am using a full size 49 key midi controller keyboard, via the midi-in connector, to play it as a 4 note polyphonic synth which works fine for me and saves wear and tear on the units keypad.
Arpeggiator, choruses and delay are all useful.
Volume control on back is small.
I have not looked into the sequencer yet.
