Dit ding heeft mijn leven verreikt. Ik speel al jaren 1e altsax in een orkest en oefende NOOIT thuis vanwege bezwaard voelen naar de buren, kinderen op bed etc. Nu zit ik bijna elke dag op zolder bij mn pc, koptelefoon op, lekker meespelen met Play Alongs op YT (bij kwartetten alle partijen kunnen invullen, hoe leuk!!) Plus mijn techniek is echt beter geworden. Lastige loopjes van het orkest kan ik nu echt goed repeteren. Echt een MEGA aanrader dit. Kleine sidenote: voor je embouchure moet je dit echt niet doen, sterker nog, ik zou hem alleen aanraden aan gevorderde saxofonisten (tenzij je niet een echte sax ernaast hebt).

Ik heb een Yamaha YDS-120 aangekocht om mij, na 30 jaar, opnieuw in de muziek te storten. Eigenlijk had ik dit instrument al moeten hebben in de tijd dat ik nog naar de muziekschool ging.
Het grote voordeel van de YDS-120 is dat je er stil mee kunt oefenen. Het instrument is licht van gewicht en makkelijk mee te nemen op reis. De vingerzetting voelt natuurlijk aan en wat een prachtig palet aan klanken biedt dit toestel!
De handleiding is jammer genoeg niet in het Nederlands, en er ontbreekt wat uitleg over hoe je het apparaat aansluit op een iPad via een hub en een powerbank. Ik heb lang moeten zoeken om alles correct te verbinden met de juiste kabels, die overigens niet meegeleverd worden.
De app vraagt ook wat zoekwerk en geduld, maar uiteindelijk ben ik heel tevreden.
Ook over Bax ben ik tevreden: ze hebben hun belofte van snelle levering helemaal waargemaakt.
Ik heb de handleiding intussen vertaald naar het Nederlands en er extra informatie aan toegevoegd. Misschien is dat interessant voor Bax, als aanvulling voor toekomstige kopers van de YDS-120.

Excellent service from BAX, and best value I could find on the internet. The YDS-120 is great for saxophone finger practice, don’t expect any improvement to your tone or embouchure, but the build quality is great and feels just like a soprano sax in your hands. I play it through a NU-X AC60 amp and really enjoy practicing scales and phrases. A must buy for serious sax players

De Yamaha 120 YDS is een week binnen en beantwoordt volledig aan mijn doel; oefenen op elk moment zonder dat ik anderen hoef te storen.
Prima oefen materiaal en makkelijk mee te nemen.

I purchased this as a practice instrument, not as a stand alone new instrument. I play tenor sax and the YDS-120 enables me to practice scales, finger work and difficult passages, either through my headphones or my guitar amp. It is excellent build quality and with fast shipping and good price it has to be BAX every time. If you are wanting a digital sax with accurate breath control and embroucher development then look elsewhere. The YDS-120 is for practicing finger work. The Yamaha YDS-120 is very good value for what it is, it is not an alternative to a real sax, but a practice tool. Highly recommended

Erg fijn om op elk gewenst moment van de dag te kunnen oefenen en de YDS 120 ook in de vakantie mee kan. Wel jammer dat de batterijen niet in de YDS 120 opgeladen kunnen worden maar met een losse batterij oplader moet gebeuren.
Een Nederlands talige handleiding zou ook wenselijk zijn.

Blij met de YDS-120. Goed om te oefenen in combinatie met mijn normale altsax. Het enige wat ik minder vind is de hoeveelheid kabels (voeding van power pack,koptelefoon, audio in) tijdens het spelen.
