General
We already knew that RCF could make good speaker cabinets and parts, and now they've added a line of compact mixers to their repertoire! The L-PAD8CX is one of those mixers, featuring eight channels and an effect section, along with two microphone channels equipped with a compressor. Adjusting compression isn't just for the professionals anymore, because with the simple turn of a dial you can set both the threshold and ratio. In this way you can monitor the most demanding of signals. Don't be fooled by the handy, compact design of this mixer either, because the L-PAD8CX can be set up in a variety of ways.
Expansion cards
This L-PAD8CX can be expanded with optional expansion cards. There are three different cards available - one for an MP3 player, one for an MP3 player with optional recording functionality, and one Bluetooth module. With the MP3 modules, you simply have to connect a USB stick with your favourite music and play lists, and with the module with recording capability you can easily make stereo recordings of your rehearsals and performances. Finally, you can use the Bluetooth module in order to stream to the mixer from any Bluetooth device, which is super handy for wirelessly playing music from your tablet or smart phone.
Effects processor
The RCF L-PAD8CX is equipped with a 24-bit effect processor. It has 99 presets divided over the following categories: echo, echo + reverb, tremolo, plate, vocal, rotary, small room, flange + verb and large hall. The 8CX also has a connection for a foot pedal so you can easily switch effects with your foot. The microphone channels are equipped with preamps that sound transparent and warm, so you can enjoy a natural reproduction of the original sound source. Furthermore, the timbre can be adjusted via the 3-way tone control, and all of the frequencies under 75 Hz can be suppressed with the low-cut switch. In this way, you won't have any problems with contact sounds from the microphones or other low-frequency noise.
