General
The Midas Venice F-16 is an analogue 16-channel live mixer that can also serve as a 16-channel FireWire audio interface. This ensures you keep that analogue feel while taking full advantage of your computer's digital effects. That's why the Venice F-16 feels right at home on stage as well as in the studio. This 16-channel version has eight microphone inputs and four stereo inputs at your disposal, as well as six auxiliary, four groups, and two stereo auxiliary returns.
The Midas Venice F-16 does it all!
The stereo channels consist of a stereo XLR microphone input as well as a stereo 1/4" jack input. You can directly route the line input to the master while using the microphone input of these channels for a microphone. Change the channel to mono mode and you have eight additional microphone inputs. Use the Firewire connector to send and receive all 16 channels to make multiple track recordings on your computer with ease. With the Venice F-16, you can record the soundcheck of the band you're mixing and listen to the audio. This allows you to make a virtual soundcheck using plug-ins on your computer.
Midas Microphone preamps
The microphone preamps inside the F-16 are of legendary Midas quality. These preamps are made up of distinct components, not chips. They are able to withstand clipping, and every preamp is equipped with its own gain regulator, polarity switch, 80 Hz highpass filter and -20dB pad. Moreover, all channels have a Firewire switch that allows you to choose between digital and analogue in or out, and whether you want it pre or post EQ. You can turn the four-band tone control for each channel on or off. Naturally, each channel features a smooth, 100mm fader that allows you to comfortably set the perfect balance.
