General
With the California series, Fender has allowed itself a fresh dive in their acoustic sixties past. The electro-acoustic Fender Tony Alva Sonoran SCE western guitar is one part of several fun-in-the-sun vintage instruments of this series. It's a steel-string guitar, designed in collaboration with renowned Californian skateboarder Tony Alva, who isn't weary of a proper dose of good vibrations and has musical merits from punk band G.F.P.
The distinctive Tony Alva Sonoran SCE
Tony Alva's quirky style is definitely apparent from the design of this dreadnought. Its striking top was adorned with a two-fold black pickguard and features a tasty cream-white lacquer that contrasts nicely with the equally impressive gold-coloured finish of the sides and back. Additionally, Alva put his signature next to the 12th fret and opted for stylish multiple body bindings. Naturally, this Sonoran model features an elegant Stratocaster headstock.
Clear, powerful tones
This guitar owes its powerful, clear and carrying tones to the solid spruce top. The rosewood fretboard, mahogany sides and back and the spacious dreadnought body contribute essential depth and warmth. Amplifying the Tony Alva Sonoran SCE is as easy as pie, as its durable Fishman Isys III preamp - with built in tuning device and 3-band tone control - sends the signal via a jack output to your acoustic guitar amplifier, mixer or audio interface.
