Fender added a new model to their Modern Player series. The Modern Player Mustang was based on the classic short scale Fender guitar of the sixties and has been the subject of several modern modifications to improve its sound and playability. For instance, the two single-coil pickups were replaced with a set of P90s, for a fat single-coil sound on steroids Both pickups have their own slider switch that allow you to turn them on, off or in phase.

Properties of the Modern Player Mustang

The body of the Fender Modern Player Mustang is made of pine, which makes it comfortably lightweight and allows it to produce a full sound with rich mids and tight basses. Thanks to its short scale (24-inch), this guitar is particularly suited for beginners and smaller guitarists. The rosewood fretboard features 22 medium jumbo frets and a modern 9.5-inch radius that make annoying buzzing during bends a thing of the past. Additionally, this guitar is equipped with a floating bridge and a Dynamic Vibrato tremolo tailpiece.
