This black-transparent instrument, featuring a beautiful Quilted Maple top, is a 5-string bass guitar from the Elite series. The ESP LTD Elite J-5 STBLK (See Thru Black) is among the line of bass guitars that are on the brink between the more expensive ESP models and the cheaper LTD versions. For this J-5, this means that the (semi)professional can have a classic bass guitar model with a warm, accurately tunable sound and reliable hardware (including Gotoh bridge and machine heads) at a reasonable price.

J-5 STBLK: warm and powerful

The tonal character of the LTD Elite J5 STBLK is predominantly wrought by its high-quality, semi-hollow ash body, as it ensures a warm, round sound and comfortable weight. The strings-through-body option lengthens sustain and improves attack. Observant bass players will already have noticed that the J-5 is equipped with two Seymour Duncan pickups - these SJ-6 67-70 pickups have a delightfully powerful sound with mild mids.
