To add to the list, this Stagg instrument features a cedar top and a built-in preamplifier. That means that you can easily connect it to an amplifier, mixing console or effect device via the 6.35mm jack plug. It has its own volume and tone control so you can make small adjustments while you play. If that wasn't enough, it is also equipped with a built-in tuner.

About the ukulele

This Hawaiian string instrument actually has European roots, as it is the descendent of the machete, which was brought to the islands back in the 19th century by Portuguese immigrants. Could the Portuguese ever have predicted the wild popularity that the offspring of their instrument would have? The ukulele is smaller than a classical guitar, and as such it produces a smaller sound. Despite the lower volume, the uke has an incredibly distinctive sound that really sings out through the mix.
