General
The Ibanez UEWT5 tenor ukulele is almost entirely made of mahogany, a medium-dense wood that allows for a rich, warm sound with plenty of clarity and excellent sustain. Furthermore, the fretboard and bridge are made of rosewood, adding a nice warm accent. The large Orchestra body offers great projection, while the Open Pore finish allows the wood to breathe, improving the instrument's overall sound and ensuring the neck never feels too sticky.
Ukulele: good things come in small packages
The Hawaiian name for a ukulele roughly translates as 'jumping flea'! It's not exactly the most flattering name for a small stringed instrument that is great fun to play. The ukulele is based on the Portuguese machete that was brought to the Hawaiian islands by immigrants in the early 20th century where it became the ukulele we know and love today. No matter the situation, the ukulele's unique sound cuts clearly through any mix. This small instrument has great potential!
