The GEN16 Direct Sound pickup
The Direct Sound pickup works by processing the signal at the source of the sound - the cymbal. This means that the sound is isolated, resulting in the elimination of feedback and ambient noise! It's a great solution for everyone, giving the drummer more room and the sound tech a better overview for mixing. Whether you're working live or in the studio, these pickups are a real asset. They've been designed for the electro-acoustic cymbals from the GEN16 series by Zildjian, but you can also use them with regular acoustic cymbals.

De Direct Source cymbal pickup is van de tweede generatie en wordt op het bekken geschroefd. De GEN16 bekkens zijn geperforeerd dus gaatjes zat. De contact trillingen worden omgezet en doorgegeven aan de GEN16 DSP module die daar wel een update voor nodig heeft. Gewoon via een USB kabel aan de PC hangen, aanzetten en het komt vanzelf goed. Geen rondzingen dus en veel zuiverder geluid. De cymbal processor wordt net als de eerste generatie onder het bekken bevestigd en heeft een lichtshow ingebouwd. Via 1 module kan je overigens in 1 keer via een multifunctioneel knopje al je bekkens van dezelfde show voorzien, dwz de soort show (aan, knipperen, verschillende looplichten) en in een flink aantal kleuren. Een kleur als het bekken niet wordt gebruikt en een kleur voor als je bekken aanslaat.
Ik bene erg tevreden over deze DSP's. De eerste drie heb ik al een jaar in gebruik (import USA), de volgende DSP's via Bax, scheelt toch de helft (importeren is ook duur). :-)
