JBL’s STX series is home to perfect, tour-proof speakers that enable you to create a scalable system that isn’t a line array just yet. One of these speakers is the STX818S, a powerful 18-inch subwoofer that knows how to handle quite a bit of amplifier power. Regardless of its application and the satellite speaker you pair it with, the STX818S produces just the right amount of bass tones.
Technical properties of the STX8181S subwoofer
You can tell that the STX series (home to the STX8181S) was the result of a rather long design phase and the subject of some careful considerations. Just take a look at its wide range of products that can be combined beautifully, and the size of the individual speakers. These housings were meant to be transported (between gigs of course) in the back of a lorry where they can form a neatly stacked whole. The special 18-inch, 2,000-watt (program) woofer is mounted in a bass-reflex construction with sizeable bass ports. The STX series speakers pair perfectly with DBX processing and Crown amplification so you can easily download their presets.
Additional features of the STX818S subwoofer
The sub’s housing is made of 13-ply birch and poplar, ensuring a rigid whole for tight, punchy bass sounds. The steel, punctured grill looks beautiful and industrial and does an excellent job of protecting the woofer. On the back, the grill features acoustic-transparent foam for added protection and even better looks.
