There's a difference between a mic stand with boom arm and Stage Ninja's Scorpion system. It's because of the shape: the Scorpion system can almost take on any kind of shape because the arm is made of rotatable compartments. The entire unit of this modular system is reminiscent of a scorpion's tail. By means of optional extra compartments and the Y adapter, you can create a large boom arm, in which you can place microphones, recorders, and cameras. That's what makes this product so special - it allows you to place your microphones and cameras in the weirdest positions. This model works with a (strong) magnet but there's also a version available with a clamp: the MIC-12-CB.
