General
Operating light shows with DMX controllers has been common practice for some time now - usually these are devices in the shape of a traditional mixer, but they can vary from quite compact to rather large, with varying numbers of control elements. Aesthetically, they don't just fit into any environment, however. Ideally, you would want a controller that's elegant and can perfectly be integrated into the interior of your home, pub, restaurant, etc. One such controller is the Daslight DPAD Gold, an easy-to-use touch panel that you can mount on a wall.
Properties of the DPAD Gold
As this is the largest model of the series, it has a bit more to offer than the DPAD 512, for instance. It features more touch buttons for added functionality, and a good-looking colour fan. You can send out no fewer than 1,024 DMX outputs, and enjoy a lot of added memory (size of MicroSD). The DPAD Gold supports up to ten simultaneous zones, and a zone can consist of a maximum of 50 scenes.
The Software
This operating panel is quite compact, as all the complex technology has gone into the accessory software. It's the software (DVC3 - Daslight Virtual Controller 3) that allows you to design your scenes, like LED matrices, colours and pan/tilt. The 3D generator shows you what a scene will look like in reality. All in all, the software offers a lot of functionality, but it's easy to get the hang of and operate the software.
