Mooer Air P05 2.4Ghz Wireless Guitar System

Bought this in December, ot worked well to start with, after a couple of days it developed a high pitched squeal and after a week it the received stopped charging.

don't bother with this product, i only bought it as it was the they only cheap dongle wireless that charged via USB C, I've since found a Lekato product that charges via USBC and has been bullet proof in operation with zerp noise.

Bought this back in November and only just got around to using it. They feel well solid and connect very easily - plus it's easy to switch between the four available channels and the coloured LED indicates the channel being used. That's the good news.

The bas news is that this thing is NOISY - I mean, absolutely unusably awful. I even took various guitars and battery-powered amps into a FIELD so I know this isn't from some errant device in my house or any short or issue with the guitar being used and nothing stops the hissing and whining from this device - left my phone behind - literally nothing that could be blamed. Changing channel does nothing - further showing that this is not interference.

There's obviously some sort of noise gate built into this thing as the hissing and whining stops if the guitar is silent - but you hear that noise rapidly fading down only to equally quickly ramp up if there's any movement of the guitar, enough to sen even the smallest signal out to the transmitter. The presence of that noise gate suggests to me that Mooer knew there was a serious design flaw and hoped to mask it behind the guitar's own output and a cranked-up amp.

It's s not worth messing around trying to return it now so I'll maybe open it to see if it's possible to shield the thing but a quick and simple test - wrapping tin-foil around the transmitter - completely cut the signal which suggests that shielding without blocking the signal may be impossible - and the antenna itself may even be the weak point. As I said, the heavy use of a noise gate in this thing suggests to me that this can't be cured.

Overall - don't waste your money on this. I'm not even suggesting that you have to spend a lot more and buy a "professional" system because I've bought something very similar to this through a major online seller for roughly the same money and had no problems at all with it.

This was a fairly new device when I bought mine so the other reviews reporting this noise issue - here and elsewhere online - weren't available.

(This is the second Mooer product I've bought and the previous one - an acoustic guitar amp - was also massively flawed and practically unusable. I think the phrase "never again" is applicable).

Mooi compact en betaalbaar setje wat op zich goed werkt.
Voor mij als rock-gitarist alleen minder geschikt omdat ik vaak met oversturing/overdrive speel en er bij deze een soort lichte fluittoon op de achtergrond hoorbaar is bij dempen.
Er zit zo te horen wel een ingebouwde noise-gate in die het signaal dicht schroeft bij helemaal geen signaal, dan is ie weer wel stil.
Speel je clean of acoustisch zal het niet zo'n rol spelen en ben je voor weinig geld waarschijnlijk goed bediend.

Goed ding kan echt heel ver mee

Wat een leuk gadget is dit. Eigenlijk heb ik zo'n draadloos systeem niet nodig maar voor dit bedrag wilde ik het eens proberen. En het scheelt een snoer.
Het werkt uitstekend. Ik hoor geen verschil tussen draadloos en bekabeld. Het klinkt even goed. Het is plug and play. Inpluggen, aanzetten en spelen maar. Je kunt kiezen uit 4 kanalen maar het is nog niet nodig geweest om te wisselen. Tot nu toe is het storingsvrij. Bij de productinformatie staat dat het niet werkt met actieve elektronica. Mijn basgitaar heeft dan wel passieve elementen maar een actieve voorversterker. En daarmee werkt het ook gewoon. Hoe het zich houdt in een live-situatie kan ik dus niet zeggen maar thuis gaat het prima. Ik heb voor de Mooer gekozen vanwege de lange batterijduur. Ik heb het nog te kort om daar iets over te zeggen maar mijn conclusie is dat het een aanrader is.
