General

To get a better idea of what the Sonicware ELZ_1 is all about, let us take a second to paint you a purely imagined picture of its makers. While most traditional synths come with somewhat limited functionality and are probably developed in squeeky-clean offices before being loaded with, say, twenty parameters, we like to imagine that the engineers that worked on the ELZ_1 slaved away like a couple of greasy twenty-somethings in their mum's garage. The kind of people that down to their very cores, feel that the processor they're busy tweaking and perfecting can do much, much more. As such, unhindered by any restricting marketing strategies, they keep stuffing more and more potential inside that processor until it can't take any more. The result? This ELZ_1: a portable synthesizer with a sequencer that's capable of more than just a handful of blips and bleeps.

Specifications of the Sonicware ELZ_1

The Sonicware ELZ_1 comes with no less than nine synthesis models, including 4-op. FM, wave playback, granular synthesis, noise, classic waveforms (sawtooth, block, etc) and more. Envelopes, lots of filters, LFOs and even effects can be found in and on this potent synth as well. And we don't mean simple delay but real reverbs, chorus, delays, distortions and more. For the notes, you're provided with an arpeggiator and a step sequencer; 128 patterns of 64 steps that can, of course, be chained at will. It's also worth knowing that this kind of functionality can be upgraded via firmware updates.

External Control

You can also connect the ELZ_1 to Teenage Engineering's Pocket Operators and Korg's Volcas if you prefer external control. USB-MIDI control is possible too, just make sure to read the specifications first. All in all, the Sonicware ELZ_1 is a brilliantly potent and portable synthesizer brimming with future-proof features.
