General
The Minilogue XD follows in the footsteps of many of Korg's ridiculously successful models. High-grade sound with analogue warmth and plenty of on-board controls and effects. Each of the four voices are shaped by two analogue oscillators and a digital multi-engine that has noise, VPM and user sound generators. You get four different noise generators for shaping percussive sounds and effects, while the VPM is essentially an FM oscillator that has two operators and can be used to make more complex sounds and textures. User oscillators give the space to create and save your own or load up the ones you've downloaded.

As soon as you've mastered the basics of the oscillators, there are plenty of other functions to get to grips with. Two envelopes, LFO, filter, three types of effects (modulation, reverb and delay) that can be used simultaneously and a user effect slot for loading in your own creations. There's a sequencer, the possibility to micro-tune the pitch of each key and CV is supported as well. The characteristic, and now classic, joystick has a space on the already teeming control surface and the Korg Minilogue XD also has a screen that displays the waveform as this little synth squeezes electrons until they spit out sound.
