While it strikes a stark resemblance to the Synthi from way back when, the Erica Synths SYNTRX brings things bang up to date while piling on the experimentals. Taking an old-school-new-school approach, this synthesizer won't give you the ominous textures from the Blade Runner soundtrack, but will take you down a much weirder path populated by satisfying bleeps, bloops and raw screams - basically the SYNTRX is a master when it comes to working alongside external audio sources. So here, you can think of the earlier work of Jean Michel Jarre, who himself, was a master of this niche area of sound-design. And fortunately, the range of options is anything but limited thanks to a lit-up modulation matrix that can be manipulated to carve out something fresh every minute. Definitely built for the more-experienced and experimental sound designer who might be looking for an OG Synthi, in the SYNTRX, they might find even more.
