Armed with a few refreshing power-ups, and built with Swedish precision, the Elektron Analog Four get a second edition. The MKII version of this 4-voice synth box comes neatly crammed with analogue oscillators, all supported by the reliability and streamlined speed of digital controls, and all housed in a solid, gig-worthy aluminium housing. Just a little bit bigger but around the same weight as the MKI, it's just as easy to tote and takes up just as much precious desk space, while besides polishing up a few of the original MKI features, the Elektron Analog Four MKII has a few cheeky additions and upgrades of its own.

The sequencer offers deep control over the synth-sounds, and via CV/Gate outputs, even external gear including old classic synths can be efficiently controlled, since intergrating any vintage synths is made super simple by the high bandwidth Overbridge and voice-assignable outputs. In this renewed version, the analogue circuit has been polished up so the overall sound has more meat, definition and clarity in the low-end frequencies, and the overdrive and distortion effects are more transparent, while the familiar, already immaculate delay, reverb, and chorus effects remain untouched.

Better, Faster, Clearer

Since this is the second edition, more buttons have been packed in, giving you more experimental power over more parameters, and improving the general workflow. To aid live performance, the OLED screen has been enlarged and is more crisp, so that all the visuals are as clear on stage as they are in your living room. Each button is now backlit and the control labelling has been made a little clearer to support more intuitive play, especially when it comes to learning a little more about tweaking the on-board synth voices.
