Behringer has been comfortably walking down Synth Street, it seems. Slowly but surely, the German manufacturer has earned a solid reputation and may be counted among a group of renown synth-developing companies. Next to their recreations of vintage classics, Behringer builds and designs rather innovative concepts such as this Behringer Crave. At first sight, you may recognise the terms featured on its control panel as those also stamped on timeless classics such as the TB-303, but that's also where any further comparisons cease. The Crave can be described as a semi-modular analogue synthesizer with a large patch bay and a prominent sequencer. Due to its modular design, this is not a synth that you'll figure out completely over the course of a weekend. With a convincing sound and a ridiculously affordable price, Behringer is looking to seriously hurt their competitors with the Crave.

Gekocht in de Bax winkel in Amsterdam. Zeer kundig en vriendelijk geholpen, wilde graag eens wat modulaire modules van Behringer horen, zien en voelen. Gezien de complexiteit van (semi)modulaire synthese maar begonnen met dit instapmodel. Nu al uren plezier van gehad, leuke patches gemaakt! Op naar de volgende(n)..

Ben een beginner maar heb binnen 10 dagen m.b.v. YouTube, patch-library.net en (Moog Mother32-) handleiding al aardig wat vorderingen gemaakt. Heerlijk apparaatje om je geluidstechnisch mee uit te leven. Mooi ook dat dit voor zo'n overzichtelijk bedrag kan.
Het is dat er wat rust aan mijn bankpas is voorgeschreven, maar anders zou ik direct toegeven aan het Gear-Acquisition-Syndroom waarmee ik door dit machientje ben besmet 😁

Erg fijne synth. Lekker klein zodat je ook laks op de bank de nodige bliep bloop sessies kunt hebben. De bekende 3340 ic knort er lekker op los. De kleine patchbay is mooi overzichtelijk. Daarnaast is de arp een aangename toevoeging.

De Crave voelt super degelijk aan door de mentale behuizing en de houten kantjes. Ook de knobs zijn erg fijn. De knopjes van de sequenser zijn wel wat 'clickie'. Het geluid is top, met vele mogelijkheden! Ongelofelijk dat je zóveel degelijkheid en klank krijgt voor deze prijs.

Mooie en degelijke synth met de onvervangbare warme sound voor weinig geld die uitdaagt te experimenteren. Wel even de tijd nemen om het apparaat en het menu onder de knie te krijgen.
