Made from hard-wearing plastic, the Nuvo jSax has exactly the same valve layout as a normal saxophone but weighs far less, making it a comfortable starting point for younger saxophonists. Even more experienced players will appreciate the soft tone of this instrument alongside the chromatic middle C to G2 note range. This saxophone is waterproof, easy to clean and able to withstand a few bumps and knocks and comes bundled up with a case, a comfy strap and spare reeds.

Leuk en betaalbaar voor de jonge beginner. De hulptoetsen boven en onder de twee reguliere octaven ontbreken, maar tegen de tijd dat de jonge blazer daar aan toe is, is de kans groot dat handen groot genoeg zijn voor het echte werk.
Zelf krijg ik de tonen vanaf hoge A er niet uit, maar dat krijg ik bij een sopraan ook niet, dus dat zal waarschijnlijk meer aan mij dan aan dit instrument liggen. Ben dan ook een tenor/bariton blazer waarbj ik af en toe alt gebruik vanwege makkelijk mee te nemen.
1 Verbeterpunt: in plaats van een echte oktaafklep moet je je duim van het gaatje lichten. Dat is een wezenlijk andere bediening dan de saxofoon kent. Mij lijkt een hevel die het oktaafgaatje opent door op het andere uiteinde te drukken met de duim een haalbare oplossing hiervoor.
