Giving more to the fans of the OG Simplifier Classic, the DSM & Humboldt Simplifier Deluxe piles on the extras, resulting in a super-serious, super-upgraded wonder of a cab simulator. Shift up from the Classic to the Deluxe and the number of connection ports almost doubles, because this unit is not just home to one but two separate circuits, basically giving you all of the options that the Classic did, just times two.

Two Amps at the Same Time

Two channels have been built into the Simplifier Deluxe, where Channel A has a bit more gain than Channel B. Both channels have also been kitted out with three analogue preamps: in AC Bri mode, you get crystal-clear cleans that can be pushed over into a familiar Queen-style overdrive; in American Classic mode, you get the sweet sound of those classic amplifiers that were built back in the sixties (an outstanding pedal platform); and in MS Brit mode, you get a more raw preamp sound that's simply built for hard rock. Once you've selected your preamp, you can add your preferred power amp and speaker cabinet to the mix, each with their own character, all before picking one of three different speaker configurations: 1x12, 2x12, or 4x12. To finish, there's even an integrated stereo reverb to play with. The beauty is that you get all of these options twice, whether you want to set up two amplifiers at once and build a wall of sound or you're working with two instruments.

Hooked Up

Considering the size, the DSM & Humboldt Deluxe comes equipped with an impressive array of connection options. Two separate guitar inputs are provided alongside a stereo FX loop, two DI outputs, a stereo 'Thru' jack so you can link the preamp directly to another amplifier and, naturally, there's also an AUX input and a high-quality headphone output for more private jamming sessions. In the neat form of this all-in-one amp box, any guitarist is basically invited to choose their own tonal adventure - twice over.
