A long time ago, in a studio far far away, an equalizer wasn't much more than a few basic knobs. In present day, however, Rob Papen strikes back with his RP-EQ virtual equalizer, and a new studio force awakens. A quick glance at the images makes it abundantly clear that times have changed. For real sound tweakers, working with the RP-EQ will be an adventure on a galactic scale. This VST/AU/AAX is available for Windows and Mac OS, in both 32 and 64 bits.

Possibilities of the Rob Papen RP-EQ

The primary equalizer section of the RP-EQ offers eight frequency bands, and allows you to set frequency, gain and bandwidth. Would you like to edit the frequency of a specific note? You can, once your specify the desired note. It's also possible to use the EQ section in M/S mode, which gives you four mid and four side bands to work with - an outstanding tool for mixing and mastering purposes. M/S means that the core sound is mono in essence (and therefore central in the stereo image), but offers a stereo ambiance. As left and right are in anti-phase, the result is always mono-compatible.

Additional options

Besides its equalizer section, the Rob Papen RP-EQ has a few other tricks up its sleeve. There's a filter section, for instance, with both low-pass and high-pass filters (four types are available for each). The AIR option boosts the highest trebles, providing a great way of adding some air to your vocals. Possibly the most fun feature of the RP-EQ, however, is the XY pad, which allows for dynamic settings that are no longer static. It adds an entirely new dimension to the equalizer phenomenon, giving you the versatility of a synthesizer filter in outstanding quality.
