Amplitube 4 by IK Multimedia has been upgraded once again. All the great features of its predecessor have not only remained intact, they've all got a lot better. What's more, plenty of new options have been added as well. This software interface includes an 8-track DAW, so you don't have to invest in a separate one for recordings. What's more, you've got a 4-track looper at your disposal, which is ideal for practising as well as recording. The intuitive interface has been improved, and looks a lot fresher as a result. Despite all the new possibilities, Amplitube is still easy to use.

Bigger, better, more

Let it be clear that the improvements made to this software interface are not just visual. The amplifier simulations sound more realistic than ever before, but the biggest change in Amplitube 4 has to do with the recording possibilities. You can place two virtual microphones and position them 3-dimensionally. You can mix-and-match amp heads and cabinets, and now, you can combine different speakers as well. You'll also get a large number of new amp models as well as a brand-new acoustic simulator.

Realistic design

The previous version of Amplitube, the virtual effects pedals and 19-inch effects units were strictly discrete and the amplifier models lacked an effects loop. That's all changed in Amplitube 4. Not only can you have your FX loop pedals before or after the preamp, you've also got effects pedals in your virtual effects rack as well. The list of names that have collaborated with Amplitube for this version has grown even longer. Amplitube 4 comes standard with a wide range of models, and three new British amps have been added to the arsenal.
