General
The Zildjian Kerope 20-inch ride cymbal was designed in collaboration with drummer Zach Danzinger with the aim of giving it a 1950's / '60s retro feel. Of course, cymbals from that time had a very specific sound a feel, and the Zildjian managed to bring that back to modern times with these vintage cymbals. This 20-inch ride combines the characteristics of a ride and crash, to give it a subtle dark crash sound when you hit it on the rim. The ride, conversely, is warm and full, to give you a multifunctional cymbal that's at home in any setup.
Zildjian 20-inch Kerope: hand-hammered
Zildjian put a lot of thought into the sound of this cymbal, and decided that all of the cymbals in the Kerope series should be hammered by hand. A special handling process is also applied to give the instruments a classic playing feel, and the bells are formed individually to fit with the size of the cymbal. When it comes down to it, this is an amazingly authentic cymbal with a warm sound that's ideal for recording sessions.
