The Meinl Pure Alloy 18" Extra Hammered China can bring an irresistibly twangy, trashy accent with a short sustain to any kit sound. The sonic character of this china cymbal is pretty unique, partly thanks to the B20 bronze Pure Alloy build and, while it hits that sweet spot between short-and-dry and dynamic-and-sustain-rich, this cymbal is pretty versatile. Part of the Extra Hammered line-up, this model hasn't just been finished with some extra hammer blows, but some extra-deep hammer blows, applied via a special computerised process, resulting in extremely consistent sound that's packed with texture.

Meinl PA18EHCH Pure Alloy Extra Hammered China 18-inch

Het is precies wat ik verwachtte en hoopte: een china die qua klank past bij de Pure Alloy serie, en ook erg lijkt op de 'gewone' PA china, maar deze is veel washier, trashier en heeft een kortere sustain doordat deze extra Hammered/behandeld is.

Met een medium volume, short-medium sustain en een middeldonkere sound is dit precies de china die ik zocht. Hij kleurt naadloos en viezig af tegen de 'clean' 18 en 19 inch PA medium crashes en sluit goed aan bij de Polyphonic 21" ride en steekt contrasterend af tegen de Equilibrium 14" hihat.
