General
Sometimes you just get the urge to treat yourself to something substantial, to invest some money in yourself and your passion for music. The Yamaha Clavinova CVP-709PE Polished Ebony digital piano is such an investment, and it’s one that is sure to bring you years of enjoyment. Not only is it a beautiful addition to your home, its sound is also definitely worth the investment. Its keys offer a highly realistic playing experience, and operating it is a piece of cake, partly thanks to the 8.5-inch touchscreen display. Besides excellent piano sounds and much more, the CVP also has a wide array of backing styles. Don’t mistake it for a keyboard in a digital piano housing, however, as its amazing sound and its unbelievably realistic playing experience make it so much more than that.
CVP-709PE: top of the range
Let’s dig into this instrument’s features for a moment: it offers an unbelievable 1,787 different sounds. Of course, that number includes more than just pianos - strings, brass, you name it, it’s there! Furthermore, it’s also got plenty of accompaniment styles to keep you entertained for a long time: 600 of them, in various genres. As far as its keyboard goes, Yamaha spared no expense and included escapement simulation, ivory-style tops and a realistic hammer feel. Of course, none of that means anything if its sound is no good, which is why Yamaha built in no fewer than seven excellent speakers. These give the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-709PE a sound that lives up to its looks!
Piano Room and USB
A particularly inspiring feature of the CVP-700 series' pianos is the Piano Room. This is home to not only top-quality grand piano sounds, but also to various classic electric pianos, as well as the Session Mode. The latter mode has three virtual musicians standing by to accompany you 'live' in one of forty available styles. Besides your harmonies, they also follow your volume and intensity, thanks to the Dynamics Control feature. Do you want to record your playing? No problem! Connect a USB stick, and everything will be stored in WAV file format. You can also play back WAV files, and even adjust their tempo and pitch.
