The Clavia Nord Electro 5 HP is a modern 73-key stage keyboard that offers convincing emulations of many electro-mechanical and acoustic instruments. Clavia has improved their Electro in a number of ways, starting with a larger 1GB memory for piano sounds and 256 MB for samples. Another welcome improvement is the ability to stack sounds and to divide the keyboard into two sections (layer and split).
Electro 5 HP: Fully Weighted Keyboard
The immediately recognisable red Clavia uniform is found on countless stages for good reason! Clavia produces thoroughbred live instruments, and with the introduction of the Electro 5, that's more evident than ever. The improved Program section has been designed for optimal stage use, and together with the new, bright, even more extensive OLED screen you can enjoy fast access to the most used functions and live sets. Furthermore, as the HP version of the Electro 5 was designed specifically for keyboard players who primarily play piano parts, it features a weighted hammer-action keyboard and the digital drawbars have been replaced by physical ones.
Exactly the Right Sound
While the Electro 5 HP was designed for more piano-oriented players, it's still well equipped with organ sounds. You'll find that the organs can be adjusted extensively to precisely the right B3 sound (for example) that you have in your head. Of course, we haven't forgotten about the advanced Sample Synth section, which allows you to adjust even more sounds with extreme precision. There's also an effect section, and now you can enjoy all of the effects in stereo, from realistic tube overdrive to reverb and delay effects, it's all at your fingertips!

Gewogen toetsen, niet iedereen vindt de action prettig. Ik kan me dit voorstellen. Ik kan er goed mee uit de voeten.

Deze bekende stage piano heb ik aangeschaft voor mijn dialect-pop band waar ik voornamelijk piano partijen speel. Hier en daar gebruik ik de elektrische piano, het orgel en synths. Ideaal voor thuis, de repetities en op het podium.
Het verschil in geluid is erg goed te horen. De verschillende piano geluiden zijn helder en puur, en omdat er veel verschillende piano geluiden zijn, is er voldoende keuze. Als je het even gekker wilt, gebruik je de effecten: genoeg keus om sounds op maat te maken.
In het begin erg getwijfeld wegens de 73 gewogen toetsen, aangezien ik ben begonnen op een Yamaha met 88 gewogen toetsen. Ik stelde mij de vraag of ik überhaupt alle 88 toetsen zou gebruiken: Nee. Van de 20 liedjes uit onze set is het maar bij 1 liedje voorgekomen waarbij ik de hoge F maar één keer nodig had. Daarbij is het met een druk op de knop zo geregeld: Wanneer het nodig is, kan ik de piano een octaaf hoger of lager zetten.
Heb je dezelfde twijfel als mij? Tip: Maak van je 88-toetsen piano een 73-toetsen piano door met gaffa tape of plakband de 15 toetsen weg te plakken!
Ook ben ik erg tevreden over het gewicht en het sjouwen: Dankzij de 73 toetsen is het verplaatsen een stuk makkelijker en minder lomp dan 88 toetsen. De piano heeft voldoende aansluiten voor zowel op het podium als thuis: de monitor mini-jack ingang maakt het interessant. Sluit je telefoon op laptop er op aan en je kunt thuis je liedjes oefenen met muziek zonder dat andere mensen in het huis er last van hebben.
Kort samengevat: Een compacte stage piano, gericht op piano partijen met leuke extra's!
