Since it's one of the first ever digital stompboxes conceived by KMA Audio Machines, the Cirrus Delay & Reverb might turn a few of the more hardcore analogue-effect devotees off, but the truth is - digital effects come with some immense advantages and can considerably raise the bar when it comes to both flexibility and accuracy. This is exactly what the Cirrus packs and in fact, its potential is almost boundless. You start where you'd expect, by selecting one of three reverb types: modulation, low-pass, or high-pass filters, then selecting one of three delay types: modulation, sample & hold, and octave. The Delay and Reverb pots manage the effect levels, and by hooking up an external expression pedal (not included) can be controlled hands-free and in real-time. The Time pot adjusts the timing of the delay repeats, but this can just as easily be set using the convenient tap-tempo footswitch - hold it down and the number of repeats is maximised, so that the result oozes with the kind of dreamy, ambient delay that comes close to tape delay. The Sens pots control the sensitivity of both effects, and over on the reverb side, the tail length can be tweaked with the Decay pot and the high-frequencies can be suppressed with the Damp pot, for a deeper, more smooth response. For the ultimate, mind-bending delay, just hit the Engage switch and hold it down. This far-reaching shoe-gazer's dream even offers an FX loop.
