Walrus Audio present the Kangra: a filter fuzz pedal designed in collaboration with SNL guitarist, Jared Scharff, and finished with awesome artwork by Adam Forster - inspired by the impressive journey that Jared made to the Kangra Valley near the Himalayas. This guitar pedal is best described as a mix between classic Kay Fuzz Tone and an MPC 3000-style low-pass filter, but if you prefer a dirty edge to your solos, all you have to do is throw the Kangra Filter Fuzz into Vintage mode. The Modern mode, on the other hand, gives you longer sustain, a little more tonal tightness and a little less attitude, all of which helps to add presence to the octave effect.

The Kangra: Psychedelic, Funky or Simply Shocking?

It's only when you pull up the filter section that you can start unleashing truly ground-shaking effects. Using the four control knobs, this psychedelic filter can drastically change up the aforementioned fuzz sounds, allowing you to effortlessly step into various styles like rock, funk and even pop. The Mid switch offers either a nicely balanced mid-range or an obvious mid-range scoop, and both effects can used independently if preferred. This means the low-pass filter inside this attention-grabber of a pedal can render your cleans as captivating or funky as you want.
