General
What do Pink Floyd, Robin Trower, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix all have in common? The answer is that they all made eager use of the legendary Uni-Vibe at some point in music history; a bite-size vibrato effect that had been originally designed to mimic the wavy sound of rotary speakers of old. While some argue it was never very successful at doing so, the Uni-Vibe nevertheless delivered a unique sound that many guitarists still consider to be the holy grail of modulated tone. Here, TC Electronic serve up their own devoted take on the Uni-Vibe: the Viscous Vibe.
Vibrato, Chorus and TonePrint
It's worth noting that with the Viscous Vibe, TC Electronic have dropped off a deliciously organic-sounding vibrato effect that actually holds up when compared to the OG unit. That said, the Viscous Vibe is anything but a one-trick pony since it also harbours a rich, organic chorus effect and comes loaded with TonePrint technology, taking things to the extreme in terms of versatility. As the icing on the cake, the pedal has even been designed to operate in stereo.
TonePrint Magic
TC Electronic's TonePrint technology provides access to loads of presets from famous hits and artists. The TonePrint editor for PC and Mac allows you to adjust settings and create presets that can be loaded into the pedal via USB. Even when there's no computer in sight, presets can be transferred using the TonePrint app for Android and iOS.
