The Crescendo is essentially the opposite of a noise gate, so instead of decreasing noise it actually increases it. Your pick attack will be dampened but the sound of the note itself will swell for a sound that is similar to what bowed instruments are capable of producing. The TC Electronic Crescendo is fully analogue and true bypass.
