The Strymon Sunset Dual Overdrive lines up no-fewer-than six overdrive circuits divided over two channels, each equipped with a separate set of controls to double the range and double the fun. The hybrid digital and analogue design sets up your sound with all the best bits of classic overdrive - and does it twice over.

The Sunset Dual Overdrive: Channel A

On channel A, the output can be flipped between Texas and Treble mode via a mini-switch to blend the relatively soft character of the germanium diodes with a parallel dry signal at lower drive levels, and at higher levels, you can really fatten up the sound of single-coil pickups. Flip into Texas mode to engage a single stage soft-clipper for smooth and dynamic overdrive with boosted mids - think electric blues, or flip into Treble mode to boost the high frequencies. Turn up the tone for a tighter signal or turn it down to gain more low end.

The Sunset Dual Overdrive: Channel B

Over on Channel B, a mini-switch shifts the sound from 2Stage, to Hard and to JFET overdrive modes. 2Stage combines soft-clipping with hard-clipping for a complex overdrive with a wide gain-range, giving you everything from a light crunch to full saturation; Hard mode uses a single hard-clipping circuit which offers plenty of gain and even approaches fuzz when the Drive knob is turned all the way up; and finally, JFET mode gives you a clean boost to provide a little push extra whenever you need it.

There are plenty of other features supplied by the Sunset Dual Overdrive to help you carve out your ideal setup and sound, including the pick of True Bypass or Analogue Buffered bypass. Via the Config switch, you can control the signal flow, allowing the pedal to run in series, reverse series or parallel. By connecting a Strymon MiniSwitch (not included), you can call up your go-to setting at will, and for added sonic dimensions, an expression pedal can be hooked up. Bundled up with a power supply, the ultra-versatile Strymon Sunset Dual Overdrive is a definite upgrade for any discerning guitarist, and since this is the Sunset Midnight Edition, it comes cloaked in black.

Voor het pedaal zelf geef ik 5 sterren. Het is subliem. Er zijn genoeg beoordelingen on-line dus ik laat het hier bij. Maar de manier waarop ik als klant door Bax were behandeld is minder goed. Tijdens het bestellen wilde ik de promo-code toevoegen maar door een fout werd de code niet toegekend in de eindafrekening. Ik vroeg een krediet-nota maar kreeg als antwoord dat ik het pedaal maar moest terug sturen! Dit is te onnozel voor woorden! Mijn mails worden nu sinds dagen genegeerd. Bellen lukt ook niet want de wacht rij is daar minstens 15 minuten. Foei Bax music. Ik ben (sorry, was) een goede klant en gaf daar jaarlijs uit voor een duizend of twee Euro. Ik voel mij als klant in de kou gezet.
