The Hamstead Soundworks Comet Interstellar Driver houses some mammoth-grade power, features a fully analogue design that spans a broad sonic spectrum, and kindly hands you a complete tool kit for bringing everything to shape. Set up the Comet to serve as your personal boutique overdrive, gifting your guitar sound with a fully defined mid-range before pushing things up a bit to gain some rich and cream-filled fuzz. Activate High-Gain mode via the internal switch and add some solid crunch or mouth-watering, saturated distortion to the mix. And, as well as the set of two-band EQ controls planted on the front panel, an internal Hi-Cut pot has been fitted for tweaking the specifics in detail, completing a multifaceted stomper built to meet the needs of the most demanding tone-chasers.

Flip the two-way mini-switch on the right to select your preferred signal path, which doesn't just flip the placement of the drive and EQ circuits in the chain, but also switches up the clipping mode and gain structure - a feature that fully underlines Hamstead's prowess when it comes to designing complex analogue stompboxes. In DRV>EQ mode, you get some sweet and delicious, dynamic and transparent drive and, in EQ>DRV mode, the input gain is boosted, giving you some raw and satisfyingly brutal output. Meanwhile, the silent optical circuit and OptoKick footswitch push the quality of this effect pedal up to boss level.
