Home to a bucket of Plexi-style sounds, the Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret Deluxe stompbox takes the original DLS circuit and gives it a hefty upgrade, so the Deluxe edition now features a phase reverser, a power amp simulator and an output transformer. Via the mini-switch planted on the right of the control panel, this pedal can be flipped from Super Lead to Super Bass mode in the blink of an eye where, in Super Lead mode, the gain-range varies from classic Pexi to a modified JCM800 and, in Super Bass mode, the fierce spirit of a JTM45 and JTM50/10 amplifier is awoken - couple Super Bass mode with a fuzz pedal and the results pack some proper punch. The presence control pot is also a little bit easier to access with this Deluxe version, so you can quickly an easily tweak the sound to taste.

Another really interesting addition is the built-in boost circuit which can be placed before the DLS to unleash powerful, saturated tone or placed after the DLS to give your valve amplifier preamp an extra push. Meanwhile, the fitted +10dB line output is ideal for hooking this pedal directly up to a mixer during gigs or an audio interface when recording, and both outputs can be used at the same time. Basically, even though it's been carefully built in the lab in Portland, Oregon in the US-of-A, this Catalinbread offering slaps some sweet, high-grade, British-style sound on your humble pedalboard.
