Après avoir essayé des overdrives "boutique" chers je suis revenu sur du boss. Cette SD-1 c'est ce que je préfère en entrée d'un ampli type Marshall avec le gain environ à la moitié. En plus cette édition 50th anniversary en jette !

Had it for 3 days and it’s already my favourite pedal, pairs so nicely with other boss pedals like the ds2 and mt2. Such good tones

Honestly, I have too many overdrive and distortion pedals. But I've always been curious about the SD-1, so when I saw they were releasing a 50-year anniversary edition it was as good an excuse as any to get one. It's about Euro 20 more expensive than the regular edition and what you get is a limited edition pedal with a sparkly, shiny paint job instead of the wasp yellow. Other than that there is no difference from the standard edition. So if you're not a huge BOSS fan or just want the function, get the regular edition instead. It also comes with a 9V battery.
Pros:
- Sounds a similar to to a tube screamer but less of the mid-hump and slightly more aggressive with the tone up a notch
- The tone control is very usable, really going from dark to bright. You might need to change this response depending on the guitar you are using because it seems quite sensitive to the type of pickups you are using.
- Works well as a clean boost with the drive all the way off or to push other pedals or amps after it. With that tone control you can also shape your sound and use it as a boost for solos
- Works well into other pedals. I've paired this with other overdrives, distortions and amp sims as a boost and tone shaping tool.
Cons
- None so far.
I've got a bunch of OD and distortions on my board and I get different results when gain stacking different pedals. This is a pedal that probably works best in combination with your amp and other pedals rather than on its own to help your sound. That's the direction it's inspiring me to go in and it's always good when new gear inspires you. Thanks BAX, thanks BOSS and congratulation on your 50 years of quality pedals.
