Jazz-style bass guitar pickups from the seventies are bright, articulate and produce a deep, clear bass sound. They're the perfect pickups for slapping and for music styles such as funk and R&B. However, also many rock bass players prefer the sound of the seventies. The AG 5J-70 is the 5-string version of Aguilar's authentic '70s set. This set of two pickups allows you to draw the famously aggressive, sharp tone of a seventies Jazz Bass from your own, 5-string electric bass guitar.

As the windings and materials of the '70s pickups varied so widely, Aguilar used several versions of different years to model for these pickups. After carefully listening and creating prototypes, the boffins at Aguilar were able to determine the right balance between wire gauges, windings and materials for the sound of '70s jazz-style pickups. The AG 5J-70 is a great addition to any bass guitar and pairs beautifully with Aguilar's on-board preamps like the OPB-3TK.
