These days, many studios are mixing in-the-box with controllers. The current generation has more technology and brands to choose from than ever before. The SSL (Solid Stage Logic) consoles used to be the industry standard, but now, IGS Audio offers a worthy alternative: the S-Type 500 VU stereo mixbus compressor in the size of a compact 500 module. The quality is high, and IGS have even added a side chain HPF to reduce pumping.

IGS make the best kit for the $$$ . . I purchased the Rubber Band EQ some time ago and was so impressed I got the S-Type.
I've owned 100's, well probably 50, compressors over the years including the TK 501 which is nice and excellent glue however just a tad boring; if you like a bit of rock and dirt in your productions. The Midas 500 compressor is a steal, get 2, and also anything by ADR (Vintage) .
So the S-Type is great on the master bus - fastest attach and slowest release times and blended into taste . .Its also great earlier on in your music making before desk eq, works with anything really, giving a nice fat controlled colour (unlike TK audio that can be emulated with a plug in)
Really enjoying the ISG stuff - professional results without the professional price tag .. and from Poland, which is nice too.
