General

API Audio's anniversaries are traditionally celebrated with special edition releases of their most renowned studio units. The 550A 50th Anniversary is a superior 3-band equalizer with the famed proportional Q on-board, meaning the band becomes less wide the more you cut or boost. The HF and the LF bands can be switched from bell to shelf, while bandpass slightly rounds off the frequency spectrum below 50 Hz and above 15 kHz. Just like all other API units, the 550A is known for its punchy character, delivered by its 2520 OP-Amp. Be quick if you want to claim one for yourself, only 50 units were produced of this limited edition EQ.
