Shure's patented Dualdyne mic is engineered first and foremost for live use and vocal performances, which are both susceptible to disruptive background noises. Nothing is worse than experiencing feedback or interference caused by other devices in the vicinity! The Shure KSM8 effectively eliminates this problem thanks to functions like roll-off filters and presence peak pads.

KSM8: the Dualdyne principle

The principle behind the Dualdyne mechanism is that there are two very thin diaphragms integrated into the microphone cartridge. One of the diaphragms is active while the other is passive and an inverted air stream isolates and enhances the two diaphragms. The pneumatic shock mount prevents handling noises from being captured without having an adverse effect on the low-frequency range. As well as all these internal features, the KSM8 has a dent-proof, hardened carbon grille combined with a special hydrophobic woven fabric that functions as a water-repellent pop filter.
