This lavalier microphone is designed for body-worn applications like presentations and meetings, but its popularity stems from its excellent vocal recording and amplification capabilities. The SM93 is often used in the theatre, but is regularly seen on television as well.

Shure's SM93 is versatile, but what about the technical side? Let's first take a look at the frequency range, which runs from 80 Hz to 20 kHz and is optimised for speech and vocals, allowing this mic to perform well, even in noisy environments. A bass roll-off filter counters most ambient noise and keeps handling noise to a minimum, making the Shure SM93 ideal for body-worn applications like TV broadcasts, theatre performances or business presentations.

Escribió lo siguiente sobre Shure SM93 micrófono de solapa omnidireccional

Wij waren op zoek naar een goede microfoon voor de audio bij onze filmopnamen. Omdat we al eerder een goede recorder bij Bax kochten (de Tascam DR-100MKII) wilden we niet in een nieuw draadloos systeem investeren, maar in een microfoon die via XLR aan te sluiten was op deze recorder. Daarnaast wilden we niet geconfronteerd worden met gedoe over frequenties van draadloze systemen, op het moment dat je opnamen wilt maken. We nemen namelijk zowel in België als in Nederland op.

Dit is een microfoon met een zeer natuurlijke stemweergave. Ik speelde een testopname af zonder enige bewerking en mijn collega in de andere kamer dacht, dat ik - nogal hard - met Bax aan het bellen was :-).

De microfoon vangt bij buitenopnamen heel weinig wind op en dat was voor ons ook een heel belangrijk criterium. Ik heb hem vergeleken met een Rode Videomic en een Line 6 lavelier en dat bleek een wereld van verschil.

We hebben de microfoon online besteld tijdens de Open Dag van Bax en tot mijn verrassing was hij de volgende dag toch al in huis. Super van Bax!

We hadden één klein minpuntje: nadat we de microfoon op een XLR-ingang hadden aangesloten, kwam hij met geen mogelijkheid meer los. Dus moesten we toch even langs Bax, waar het direct voor ons werd gerepareerd. Oké gedaan Bax!

Ondanks het minpuntje toch vijf sterren, omdat het meteen werd opgelost en de microfoon wat ons betreft echt een aanrader is. Bovendien kun je ook andere microfoons (met een Shure-connector) op het preamp-gedeelte aansluiten, mocht je dat willen. We hopen er lang plezier van te hebben.
