Since the receiver has two channels, you can use any combination of two microphones you'd like. During college lectures, two teachers can use the two included LM7 lavalier microphones, while sports instructors will want to turn to the HS5 headset microphones due to noisy surroundings. In the case of a lecture with multiple guest speakers, the main speaker or host can be equipped with one of the lavaliers while the guest speakers take turns with one of the headset mics.
