Unlike the cardioid microphones in Shure's SM and PG series, the SM87A has a more specific super cardioid pickup pattern that effectively counters disruptive ambient noise. This, in combination with a subtle frequency range of 50 Hz to 20 kHz, ensures you of a sensitive mic that delivers a warm, accurate sound reproduction.

Shure is known for the versatility of its products, which is also the case with the SM87A. It's perfect for use in the studio as well as on stage or on the road. Thanks to its famously rugged aluminium housing and built-in shock mount, it's virtually unbreakable. What's more, the shock mount also keeps handling noise to a minimum. The icing on the cake is the SM87A's built-in three-stage pop filter, which represses breathing and wind noises, also making it suitable for use outside.
