General
SE Electronics presented this Rupert Neve tube microphone at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt 2015. The RNT is a multi-pattern tube microphone with a large diaphragm. It's been developed in collaboration with Rupert Neve, an engineer and entrepreneur that's mainly renowned for being a designer of professional audio gear. A floor box is included.
Design
The RNT is Rupert Neve's first and currently only tube microphone. Its design incorporates elements from Neve's console designs. The microphone capsule is specifically designed for the RNT. This brand new capsule is tailor-made and hand-tuned by SE Electronics microphone technicians in the renowned capsule room in the SE factory.
Floor box
After the signal has left the microphone, it travels to the outboard high-voltage power supply. On the floor box you can select the polar pattern via the rotary switch - from omnidirectional to cardioid to figure-8, including three intermediate steps. The high-pass filter can also be switched between 40 and 80 Hz for the removal of unwanted low frequencies.
