The Aston Element is the world's first microphone made possible by its users. Over the course of three gruelling rounds, users worldwide voted on audio fragments recorded by prototypes of the Element until all the rough edges had been sanded down, polished off, and Aston were able to present the stunning result. This cardioid studio microphone comes loaded with a Ridyon pickup, giving the Element the frequency range of a condenser microphone, the punch of a dynamic microphone, and the mid-range detail of a ribbon microphone, resulting in a genuine chameleon of a studio recording tool. In this bundle, you not only get your own Element microphone, but a compatible shockmount and pop-filter.

't Is zoals bij iedere microfoon wat zoeken, maar klankmatig is het voor de prijs ok. Wat echter minder goed is, is dat de microfoon in het geheel niet gemakkelijk in en uit de shockmount te krijgen is. Eén kant lukt vlot, de andere kant moet men zeer hard duwen en trekken om ze respectievelijk in en uit te klikken. Telkens ik dit doet vrees ik dat de shockmount het zal begeven. Wat ook zeer ontgoochelend is, is dat de plopfilter, die normaal met een magneet mooi op zijn plaats moet blijven, dit niet meer doet. Aanvankelijk bleef hij nog wel redelijk goed zitten (maar ook niet geheel recht), nu is het echter zo dat hij bij het minste schokje hevig begint te wiebelen. Dat is goed hoorbaar, waardoor de shockmount onbruikbaar wordt. Bij heviger schokken valt shockmount er gewoon af!

mooie vormgeving, heb mic gebruikt voor opname van akoestische gitaar. in combinatie met condenser die iets verder stond, gaf het een mooi resultaat. voor zang is het wat zoeken naar juiste afstand, maar klinkt alvast als een goeie dynamische microfoon.
